Zack Hurd

As most of you know, Zack is over in Doha working with The Look Company for the 2022 World Cup bid (football/soccer), The 2011 Asian Cup (football/soccer) which are in Doha in January, the Asian Beach Games in Oman in December, and the Womans Tennis Association World Championships which start on October 26th.

Mark Tewksbury

Chikopi Alum, Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer, Mark Tewksbury has been appointed as Canada’s Chef de Mission for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The Canadian Olympic Committee made the announcement Thursday. Tewksbury, 42, swam to a gold medal in the 100-metre backstroke at the 1992 Games in Barcelona where he also collected bronze. He won a silver medal in the men’s 4×100-metre medley in 1988. As Chef de Mission, Tewksbury will take on the role of representative and spokesman of the Canadian Olympic Team. He will be expected to support and promote the team and create an environment conducive to achieving the goal of placing among the top-12 nations in medal count.

We were remiss in posting the results of our three Chikopi alum who competed in the 2010 Pan Pacific Games held in Irvine California, 18 – 22 August 2010.

Andrew Ford – Canada

400m IM = 7th – 4.21.66

200m IM = 11th – 2.01.58

100m Back = 25th – 57.05

Aimeson King - Canada 

10K Open Water Swim = 7th – 1.59.32

1500m Free = 22nd – 15.53.29

Nick Thoman – USA

50m Backstroke = 3rd – 25.02

100m Backstroke = 9th – 53.66

Nick Thoman also graced the cover of the July Swimming World Magazine
