Phonecalls and Faxes
Phonecalls to campers officially starts today. Please refer to the information package you received for times and number. Here is a short reminder:
Campers are permitted to make one call a week and to receive one call a week. (Campers from separated homes are permitted two calls, one from each parent). This phone is only answered during meal hours, don’t forget your son has to eat too!
Phone (705) 387-0470.
Breakfast: 8.30am-9.15am
Lunch: 12.45pm-1.20pm
Dinner: 6.00pm-6.45pm.
If there is no answer it is for one of a few reasons, you are phoning too early, too late or we are not in the dining room for that meal.
Campers make outgoing calls after lunch or after the dinner meals.
Parents are welcome to call the office to speak to Bob regarding their child’s well being.
The cook and his kitchen staff respectfully request that you stop calling the kitchen line asking to speak to a camper. These interruptions are causing serious delays to the preparation and serving of the camp meals.
Unfortunately this week, during the thunderstorm that passed over Chikopi, the phone jack, that is the designated fax line was fried. There is a work order in place awaiting Bell to make the repairs. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Bob & all the young men of Chikopi,
Greetings from Kandahar. It is 42 degrees Celsius ( that’s 108 F) and the nearest water is 40 miles away. After a blistering hot day marching through 4 inches of dust just to walk to and from my airplane, it was a great pleasure to visit the Chikopi webpage and see you all enjoying camp and the beautiful Ahmic Lake.
It’s been over 20 years since I spent the summer as a Chikopi man, and I want to tell you right now that your experience at camp is going to stick with you for the rest of your life. The excitement of capture the flag, the Rambo Hunt, murderball, sailing, canoeing and swimming will continue to be talked about long after you all have gone your separate ways. You are sharing in an experience that literally thousands of young men before you now hold as treasured memories.
Enjoy the crisp waters, savor each mealtime get-together, and make as many friendships as you can. “We are Fam-i-ly”
Tell Patrick his dad misses him and he’ll see him before Christmas.
